A Missouri Lottery player made a fortunate discovery at a Walmart in Jefferson City. After completing his grocery shopping, he decided to try the "new $2,000,000 Jackpot Fortune" Scratchers ticket from a vending machine located at 724 Stadium West Blvd. The decision led to a significant win for him and his family.

“I’ve never seen that ticket before so I thought I’d give it a try,” said the winner. Upon scratching off the ticket in his car, he realized he had won one of the game's top prizes: $2 million.

The winner immediately shared the news with his son but was initially met with disbelief. “I picked up the phone and called my son,” he explained. “He thought I was lying! Everyone thought I was lying!”

Once convinced of the win's authenticity, the winner expressed plans to use the money for his family's benefit. “I can just use this money to help get the family on track,” he said. “This way, no one will have to stress out about money and that’s the biggest thing.”

In conversation with his son, he offered support for purchasing heavy equipment by saying, “He picks up the phone and I just go, ‘So, you still wanting that excavator?”

Since its launch on April 28, players of "$2,000,000 Jackpot Fortune" have won over $4.4 million in prizes from this $20 game. Over $46.3 million remain unclaimed in prizes, including another top prize of $2 million and four prizes worth $100,000 each.

During Fiscal Year 2024 in Cole County alone, Missouri Lottery players claimed more than $14.8 million in total prizes while retailers earned over $1.4 million through commissions and bonuses. Additionally, education programs within Cole County benefited from more than $7.1 million allocated through lottery proceeds.
