In the aftermath of recent storms, the business community in St. Louis is rallying to support recovery efforts. The Regional Business Council (RBC) and Greater St. Louis, Inc. convened their investors to discuss recovery strategies with leaders from various levels of government, including the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, the State of Missouri, and federal representatives.
Karen Branding, President and CEO of RBC, along with Dustin Allison, Interim CEO of Greater St. Louis, Inc., emphasized the commitment of the business community to partner in rebuilding efforts. "Earlier today, we heard from Governor Kehoe, County Executive Page, Mayor Spencer, and Congressman Bell as well as Marty Lyons from Ameren about the status of the recovery effort and to make clear to them that the business community will partner with them in the work of rebuilding our community after Friday’s tragic storms," they stated.
The focus is on securing financial investments and leveraging business expertise to aid in recovery initiatives. "We will work with our members to not only secure financial investment but to also leverage their business expertise and capacities to provide whatever resources available to assist in this effort," said Branding and Allison.
They stressed unity in these challenging times: "At times like these, it is critical to come together with one voice in support of St. Louis. It will take time to recover and rebuild, and the business community stands together to say that we will rebuild stronger and together as one community."
Acknowledging leadership efforts at various governmental levels, they added: "We wish to thank Governor Kehoe, County Executive Page, Mayor Spencer, and our region’s federal delegation for their leadership and immediate response. They are all working together to lead us through this tragedy, and we are here to support them however we can."
