The 2025 session of the Missouri General Assembly has concluded, prompting a statement from Greater St. Louis, Inc.'s Interim CEO, Dustin Allison. The organization is focused on fostering growth in the St. Louis region, with particular emphasis on two key projects: the transformation of St. Louis Lambert International Airport and the revitalization of Downtown St. Louis.
Dustin Allison expressed satisfaction with the legislative support for these initiatives. "Our mission is to drive growth for the St. Louis region," he stated. He highlighted that $7 million was appropriated by the Missouri General Assembly to aid in transforming the airport.
Allison also emphasized the importance of revitalizing Downtown St. Louis, noting progress made through recent legislation. "Passage of legislation to establish a Downtown entertainment district is a great step and show of support," he said, referring to House Bill 199.
Additionally, he mentioned bipartisan support for further downtown development efforts through House Bill 610 and Senate Bill 35, known as the Revitalizing Downtowns and Main Streets Act. "We are very encouraged that the bipartisan Revitalizing Downtowns and Main Streets Act passed the Missouri Senate and was favorably received in the House," Allison remarked.
The organization looks forward to continued collaboration with lawmakers to advance these transformative projects.
