Since the launch of the revamped Mega Millions on April 8, Missouri players have experienced a significant increase in non-jackpot prizes. In the nine drawings held since then, a total of 25,152 winning tickets have yielded $534,509 in non-jackpot prizes within the state. This marks a 382% rise from the previous valuation of $110,806 under the old game format.

A notable aspect of this new version is its built-in multiplier ranging from 2X to 10X. As a result, 7,579 Missouri players secured the $10 minimum prize for a winning ticket ($5 base prize with a 2X multiplier), amassing $75,790 in total prizes. This figure surpasses more than double what would have been awarded to all winners at that level under the old system.

Furthermore, there were 786 winning tickets at the newly introduced 10X multiplier level in Missouri, totaling over $45,930 across various prize tiers. Previously, players could pay an additional dollar for a non-jackpot multiplier capped at 5X.

The revised game structure has resulted in payouts at every non-jackpot level that are between 2.5 and 7.5 times greater than those under the former matrix. The first jackpot under this new matrix was won on April 18 with a $112 million prize from a ticket sold in Ohio. Following this win, the jackpot reset to $50 million and quickly climbed back to $100 million for the May 9 drawing.

Mega Millions tickets now cost $5 per play due to higher value prizes integrated throughout each tier. This adjustment marks only the second price change since Mega Millions' inception over two decades ago.

The national lottery game has seen seven billion-dollar jackpots won across different states since its debut in 2002 and has created over 1,200 millionaires since its last major change in 2017—averaging three new millionaires weekly.

Mega Millions is available in 45 states as well as Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with drawings occurring twice weekly at Atlanta's studios.
