A Missouri Lottery player won a $50,000 prize with a Powerball ticket purchased at Pump N Pete’s in Carl Junction. The win occurred after the player opted for the Double Play feature for the March 1 drawing.

“I knew I won something, because the screen showed ‘Claim your prize at a Missouri Lottery office,’” the winner said. “I just didn’t know how much until I was at the Springfield Lottery office.”

The Double Play option allows players to use their numbers in an additional drawing following the main Powerball draw. In this case, the winner matched four out of five white-ball numbers and the Powerball during this secondary draw.

The winning Double Play numbers on March 1 were 6, 19, 37, 66, and 68 with a Powerball number of 6.

Lottery officials learned that part of the winnings will go towards restoring a classic Jeep Wrangler owned by the winner.

Powerball is a multi-state game with draws held three times weekly. The estimated jackpot for tonight stands at $353 million.

In fiscal year 2024, Jasper County players secured over $15 million in prizes from Missouri Lottery games. Retailers earned more than $1.4 million through commissions and bonuses while over $3.5 million supported local education programs through lottery proceeds.
