U.S. Senator Josh Hawley has expressed strong support for Lori Chavez-DeRemer, President Trump's nominee for Secretary of Labor. In an op-ed published by The Daily Caller, Hawley emphasizes the importance of aligning with Trump's pro-worker platform and urges his fellow Republicans to confirm Chavez-DeRemer's nomination.

Hawley highlights a shift in political priorities brought about by Trump, who redefined the Republican Party as one focused on working people. "He offered a different vision — redefining the GOP as the party of working people," writes Hawley. He notes that this approach involves creating better jobs, reshoring manufacturing, and implementing immigration policies favoring American workers.

Despite some resistance from colleagues regarding Chavez-DeRemer's nomination, Hawley insists that confirming her is crucial for maintaining focus on labor-friendly policies. "If we care about the working class as we claim to, we must confirm the President’s pick," he states.

During a recent Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing where he questioned Chavez-DeRemer, Hawley found her responses reassuring. He argues that supporting working people aligns with conservative values and warns against returning to outdated divisions between business and labor interests.

Hawley also discusses broader societal goals such as enhancing family life and ensuring workers can earn a family wage. He believes these are essential steps toward rebuilding America and restoring dignity through decent jobs and steady incomes.

"Lori Chavez-DeRemer fits Trump’s vision," concludes Hawley. "I’m proud to support his nominee."
