Saint Louis University has announced a new scholarship opportunity in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) for participants in the Advance HER Leadership program. Beginning in fall 2026, this initiative will provide a minimum $30,000 renewable scholarship to eligible GSEM high school graduates who enroll at SLU.
The scholarship is part of GSEM's ADVANCE HER Leadership Movement Program, aimed at fostering academic and professional development. This collaboration marks GSEM's fifth collegial partnership and represents their largest scholarship offer to date.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must meet several criteria: adhere to SLU’s admission standards, maintain full-time student status by completing at least 24 credit hours annually, uphold a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, and enroll in SLU the same year they finish high school.
In addition to financial support, SLU will offer personalized campus visit days, FAFSA workshops, and comprehensive support from academic advisors. Participants will also gain access to SLU’s EXPeriential Learning Program designed to enhance their skills for modern challenges. The two organizations will work together to monitor students' progress and ensure they receive necessary assistance throughout their studies.
Natissia Small, Ed.D., CEO of GSEM stated that "Saint Louis University's generous commitment" represents "nothing short of transformative" opportunities for young women aiming for higher education while overcoming barriers. She emphasized the importance of equipping girls with essential tools for leadership roles within today’s workforce.
Robert Reddy, interim vice president of enrollment management at SLU expressed enthusiasm about supporting Girl Scouts pursuing degrees at the university. He noted that "SLU’s Jesuit mission calls us to educate the whole person," aligning closely with Girl Scout values. He added that Girl Scouts are well-positioned "to make a positive difference in the world," and SLU is dedicated to aiding these future leaders' success.
Girl Scouts continue their mission across diverse programs nationwide, empowering members to embrace their strengths and tackle various challenges while supported by volunteers and alumni networks.
