The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced revised dates for bridge maintenance operations on I-70 over U.S. Highway 40 in Jackson County. The work is scheduled to start on Friday, February 21, and continue until Friday, March 14. This revision updates the previous schedule of February 18 to March 11. The completion of the work depends on weather conditions.
The maintenance will involve several traffic modifications:
- Lane closures on I-70 over U.S. Highway 40.
- Ramp closure at I-70 westbound to U.S. Highway 40.
- Lane closure on both eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 40 under I-70.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving through these work zones. "Not all work zones look alike," the department reminds drivers, noting that they can include short-term or temporary lane closures for quick repairs or debris removal.
