The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced a public meeting regarding the Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge Replacement Project over the MNA Railroad in Springfield. The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 20, at the Springfield Botanical Gardens from 4:30 to 6 p.m. This event is designed for individuals interested in learning about traffic impacts during construction and other project details.

Attendees are welcome to arrive anytime during the scheduled hours, as there will be no formal presentation. For those unable to attend in person, MoDOT provides project information and exhibits online at www.modot.org/southwest. Additionally, individuals who cannot access the online resources can contact MoDOT’s Southwest District Office at 417-895-7600 for assistance.

The project aims to replace the Missouri Route 413 bridge over MNA Railroad and improve pedestrian facilities along both sides of the roadway from Scenic Avenue to Marion Avenue. During construction, Route 413 will be closed from east of Scenic Avenue to west of Marion Avenue for up to four months. Detours will include James River Freeway, Kansas Expressway, Chestnut Expressway, and U.S. Route 160.

MoDOT urges drivers to use alternate routes during this period and plans to inform the public about traffic impacts through electronic message boards and news releases. Construction is set to begin in March 2025 with an estimated cost of $5.9 million.

For more information about the project or MoDOT's updates, visit their website or follow their social media channels.
