Motorists in west St. Louis County should prepare for potential delays this weekend on Interstate 270 due to scheduled closures. Weather permitting, two ramps will be closed on Saturday, February 8, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., as crews work to replace overhead message board signs near the ramps. Specifically, the ramp from Dougherty Ferry Road to northbound I-270 and the right lane on I-270 at Dougherty Ferry will be affected.
For updates on real-time roadway weather conditions, motorists are encouraged to visit http://traveler.modot.org/map. Real-time traffic information can be accessed through the Missouri Department of Transportation's Gateway Guide website at modot.org. It is important for drivers to note that all scheduled work may change due to weather conditions.
In addition to these closures, several ongoing lane restrictions are already in place across various locations:
- In St. Louis City along I-55, multiple southbound and northbound lanes remain closed with varying extents expected through early 2025.
- In St. Louis County along I-270, both northbound and southbound lanes are narrowed between I-64 and Olive until late 2025.
- Route N in St. Louis County has lane closures affecting both directions at different segments.
- Various routes in Jefferson County have sections closed or restricted including intersections involving I-55 and Route 67.
Daily road closure schedules include specific time frames when certain lanes or ramps will be inaccessible:
On Thursday, February 6:
Several roads including portions of I-44 in St. Louis City and County will experience one-lane closures throughout the day.
Friday, February 7:
Similar patterns of one-lane closures continue with additional restrictions during evening hours on some routes.
Saturday, February 8:
The focus remains on planned ramp closures for sign replacement activities as previously mentioned.
Sunday sees no planned closures while Monday through Wednesday next week feature similar daily restrictions across various county roads as work progresses.
