U.S. Senator Josh Hawley has secured a commitment from Kash Patel, the nominee for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director, to address concerns about alleged abuses during President Biden's administration. This promise was made during Patel's Senate Judiciary confirmation hearing.

Patel assured Senator Hawley that he would "fully utilize, if confirmed, the investigative powers of the FBI to give you the information you require and also to hold those accountable who violated the sacred trust placed upon the FBI."

Senator Hawley expressed concerns about what he described as political persecutions by the FBI targeting pro-life Christians, parents at school-board meetings, and individuals posting political content on social media. He questioned Patel on whether it is appropriate for the FBI to target people of faith or pressure technology companies to censor political speech.

In response, Patel condemned what he termed as a miscarriage of justice under the Biden Administration and pledged to deliver a "new brand of justice" for Americans.
