Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), recently appeared on MissouriNet in Jefferson City. He discussed the importance of making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent to prevent a significant tax increase on small businesses in Missouri.
The deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 tax law to provide small businesses with a competitive edge against larger corporations. It has been instrumental in helping small business owners navigate economic challenges over recent years. However, this deduction is set to expire at the end of 2025.
Brabant emphasized that Congress should act to make this deduction permanent through the Main Street Tax Certainty Act. This legislation aims to avoid a substantial tax hike affecting many small businesses across America.
