U.S. Senator Josh Hawley recently engaged in a session with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who is nominated by President Trump for the position of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). During the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee meeting, Hawley expressed concerns about the current DHS under the Biden-Mayorkas Administration.

Hawley was critical of Alejandro Mayorkas, stating, "You already have, what I hope will soon be the distinction of succeeding the worst Secretary in the history of the Department of Homeland Security. Alejandro Mayorkas has been an absolute disgrace to that department, and frankly to this country."

The senator pointed out several issues he attributed to Biden's administration, including the reversal of policies like Remain in Mexico, problems within asylum and parole systems, and other controversies such as a 'Disinformation Board' and increased migrant crime. Additionally, he criticized their handling of information related to alleged assassination attempts against former President Trump.

Governor Noem pledged her commitment to address these issues alongside President Trump to enhance national security.
