In 2024, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) continued his legislative efforts and advocacy for Missouri as he concluded his first term in the Senate and prepares for a second term during the 119th Congress.

The past year saw him introducing legislation for automatic refunds to airline passengers, securing significant funds for Missouri military bases, and passing a bipartisan stock-trading ban through a Senate committee.

Senator Hawley's legislative record included cosponsoring 94 bills and resolutions, introducing 16 pieces of original legislation, and seeing three bills passed in the Senate. Additionally, two resolutions were passed honoring the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victories and commemorating former U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan.

His outreach efforts were extensive, with over 255 interviews with Missouri reporters and visits to all 114 counties plus St. Louis City by his staff for constituent meetings. The senator also handled significantly more tax-related cases than in previous years.

"Serving Missourians" has been a key focus, with actions addressing constituents' needs such as liaising with federal agencies on veterans' affairs and social security issues. He introduced the "Protecting Our Farmers from the Green New Deal Act" to block federal land seizures in Missouri. Other initiatives included advocating for improvements in living conditions for Missouri troops overseas and addressing postal service delays.

Senator Hawley also focused on justice for radiation victims by advancing the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) in the Senate and rallying support nationwide. He invited Dawn Chapman of "Just Moms," an advocate group from St. Louis, to attend the State of the Union address as his guest.

Bipartisan cooperation was evident as Senator Hawley worked with colleagues across party lines on various initiatives including banning stock trading by Congress members and preventing pharmacy benefit managers from owning pharmacies.

Fighting for American workers remained central to his agenda. He proposed tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles to protect autoworkers’ jobs, advocated capping credit card interest rates, and challenged Visa and Mastercard's profit margins at consumers’ expense.

In terms of family protection policies, he sought protections for airline passengers through automatic refund measures in FAA reauthorization bills and pushed against provisions forcing women into military drafts while expanding child tax credits.

Senator Hawley took steps towards transparency regarding attempted assassination attempts against former President Trump by demanding related documentation be made public following whistleblower reports of security failures within agencies like Secret Service.

Combatting perceived corruption within the Biden Administration was another area where Senator Hawley was active; urging action under constitutional amendments due to concerns over presidential conduct regarding classified documents handling among other issues while also challenging administrative officials over integrity matters related to stock holdings disclosures or departmental efficacy concerns particularly involving migrant children safety protocols or campus security amid antisemitism concerns raised nationally throughout universities postures allegedly influenced politically according media discourse aligned negatively impacting perceptions upon Democratic parties supportive roles evidenced during academic settings scrutiny outcomes observed broadly nationwide affecting
