Saint Louis University (SLU) and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) are set to host the Geo-Resolution Conference on September 12. This year's theme will explore how geospatial models can address some of the world's most pressing issues.

The conference aims to promote collaboration among government, academic, and industry partners to advance geospatial technology innovation and applications. It seeks to connect experts and students in the field while expanding the geospatial ecosystem in the St. Louis region.

Topics for discussion include evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of modeling in geospatial research, identifying areas for growth over the next decade, examining the impact of generative AI on modeling possibilities, and addressing global challenges through geospatial research.

Participants will have opportunities to engage with experts from various sectors, including government, academia, start-ups, and nonprofits. Students can meet local leaders to explore career paths in geospatial fields.

The leadership chat this year will feature VADM Frank D. Whitworth from NGA, Fred P. Pestello from SLU, and Nadine Alameh from Taylor Geospatial Institute. The event will also include a student mentoring lunch, poster session, expo on research and careers, as well as networking opportunities.

Geo-Resolution 2024 is free for public attendance both in-person at Saint Louis University’s Busch Student Center and via live stream on the conference website. Advance registration is necessary for participation.

The NGA provides essential geospatial intelligence to support policymakers and defense operations worldwide. Saint Louis University offers a comprehensive education rooted in Jesuit values. The Taylor Geospatial Institute focuses on advancing geospatial science for sustainable development.
