U.S. Senator Josh Hawley has raised concerns regarding the level of protection provided to former President Donald Trump by the U.S. Secret Service. In letters addressed to Acting Director Ronald Rowe and DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, Hawley outlined a whistleblower's claim suggesting that Secret Service leadership is obstructing government auditors from accessing certain events. This action allegedly aims to conceal that Trump is not receiving the highest level of security.

Senator Hawley addressed Acting Director Rowe, stating, “You of course have publicly stated that former President Trump is receiving ‘the highest level of Secret Service protection’ and that ‘he’s getting everything.’ This new whistleblower information troublingly contradicts your public statements.” He has requested prompt responses to questions he posed in his letter.

In his communication with IG Cuffari, Senator Hawley mentioned, “According to new whistleblower allegations to my office, Secret Service headquarters blocked several of your auditors from accessing recent Trump campaign events.” The whistleblower suggests this denial was intended to obscure inconsistencies in the protective measures for Trump's engagements.

Senator Hawley's efforts are part of an ongoing investigation into alleged failures by the Secret Service and DHS concerning assassination attempts on Trump. Recently, legislation introduced by Hawley requiring DHS to provide information on these incidents was unanimously passed by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
