St. Louis hosts summit on inclusive economic growth strategies

Greater St. Louis, Inc. is set to host the 2024 Inclusive Economic Growth Summit in Downtown St. Louis on October 16. The event aims to bring together leaders from the 15-county bi-state St. Louis metro area to discuss collaboration for driving inclusive economic growth.

The summit will feature discussions led by regional leaders and a fireside chat with Dr. Xavier de Souza Briggs, an expert on inclusive growth and Senior Fellow at Brookings Metro.

Key topics include creating pathways to careers in advanced manufacturing, enhancing supplier diversity, and advocating for diverse business growth through public policy changes.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m., with media setup starting at 8:00 a.m., and conclude at 1:15 p.m. It will take place at the Marriott St. Louis Grand's Majestic Ballroom.

The program includes three panels focusing on high-growth industry careers, leveraging anchor purchasing power for diverse business opportunities, and making diverse business growth a public policy priority.

Moderators and panelists from various sectors are set to lead these discussions:

- Trezette Dixon will moderate a panel featuring Leslie Gill and Dena McCaffrey.

- Lakesha Mathis will lead a discussion with Lusnail Haberberger, Byron Witherspoon, and Kevin Wilson.

- Adam Kazda will moderate a panel with Illinois State Senator Christopher Belt, Aimee Wehmeier, and Missouri State Senator Brian Williams.

Dr. Xavier de Souza Briggs will participate in a fireside chat moderated by Valerie Patton, discussing public-private partnerships' role in fostering civic collaboration.
