Traffic study on Jamieson Ave aims to improve safety and reduce speeding

Alderman Oldenburg initiated a traffic study along Jamieson Ave. from Chippewa to Hampton to address speeding and erratic driving behavior in the corridor, complementing the scheduled repaving of the area. The study examined the feasibility of a road diet and implementing a protected bicycle lane to reduce speeds and enhance safety for all users on Jamieson Ave.

The Jamieson Traffic Study is currently being finalized.

A public meeting was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at DuBourg High School, located at 5850 Eichelberger, St. Louis MO 63109. The City developed responses to several questions received during this meeting.

The project schedule is as follows:

- Traffic Study authorized to begin: November 2022 - January 2024

- Public Engagement: Spring 2024

- Traffic Study Completion: Summer 2024
