The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has formally requested Governor Mike Parson to sign several pro-business bills that the Missouri General Assembly forwarded during the 2024 legislative session.

The key bills highlighted by the Missouri Chamber include:

- HB 1912 (McGirl): Aims to simplify Missouri’s tax laws, making business operations more cost-effective.

- SB 748 (Hough): Seeks to renew funding for essential healthcare services.

- SB 754 (Luetkemeyer): Proposes measures to deter certain crimes and increase penalties for reckless celebratory gunfire.

- SB 802 (Trent): Offers incentives for investors financing small businesses in rural areas.

- SB 872 (Eslinger): Focuses on expanding broadband capacity and strengthening the energy grid in Missouri.

- SB 894 (Fitzwater): Supports entrepreneurship and innovation within the state.

Additionally, the Missouri Chamber has urged Gov. Parson to approve all budget bills, which encompass a range of investments aimed at enhancing Missouri's competitive edge globally. These investments include initiatives to upskill employees with industry-recognized credentials, expand Interstate 44, and onshore critical industries such as semiconductor and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing.

Under Missouri law, the governor has 45 days to act on bills after the legislature adjourns. Gov. Parson can either sign a bill into law, veto it, or take no action, allowing it to become law by default after the deadline.
