More than 5,500 students are set to receive degrees from the University of Missouri during the upcoming commencement ceremonies. The graduates have worked diligently to broaden their knowledge, hone their skills, and gain leadership experience through various avenues during their time at Mizzou.

University of Missouri President Mun Choi expressed his pride in the graduates, stating, “I’m so proud of our graduates for their hard work and commitment to excellence.” He highlighted the university's role in preparing students for successful careers and leadership positions that can make a positive impact on society.

Chair of the UM Board of Curators and Mizzou alumna, Robin Wenneker, also celebrated the achievement of the graduates, emphasizing, “Earning a degree is an incredible achievement, one of pride for our graduates and their families.”

The Class of 2024 will join the ranks of over 362,500 Mizzou alumni worldwide, solidifying their connection to the university as Tigers for life. The Mizzou Alumni Association warmly welcomes the new graduates into the alumni family, recognizing the shared experiences and traditions that bind generations of Mizzou graduates.

In addition to the degree conferral, Mizzou will be awarding honorary degrees to esteemed individuals including historian and Pulitzer Prize winner Marcia Chatelain, award-winning photojournalist Sarah Elizabeth Leen, past director of the MU Division of Urology Gilbert Ross, and industry leader and public servant Don Walsworth.

The Class of 2024 at Mizzou represents a diverse group of graduates with varied backgrounds, including individuals from all 50 states and 44 countries. Notably, nearly 950 graduates will be the first in their families to have graduated from college, and 63 among the class are active-duty military or veterans.

The commencement ceremonies will be held over three days, with 14 separate ceremonies scheduled to honor the graduates from different academic disciplines and programs. Family members and friends are encouraged to join the celebrations either in person on campus or virtually from home. The ceremonies will include special events such as ROTC commissioning of officers.

The University of Missouri looks forward to celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2024 and the positive impact they are poised to make on their communities and beyond.
