A man from Texas has admitted to stealing $319,000 from an armored car in Missouri back in 2022. Malik Johnson, 26, broke into an armored truck at the Overland Plaza shopping center and made off with three bags containing the hefty sum. The theft took place while the driver was picking up cash from a retailer at the shopping center.

Johnson pleaded guilty on Thursday to interstate transportation of stolen property. According to an unnamed source, "He is scheduled to be sentenced August 5." The charge he faces carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both. Additionally, he will be required to repay the stolen money.

The case was investigated by the Overland Police Department, and it is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gwen Carroll. As noted by another unnamed source, "The Overland Police Department investigated the case," and "Assistant U.S. Attorney Gwen Carroll is prosecuting the case."

The sentencing for Johnson is set for August 5, where he will face the consequences of his crime.
