U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark handed down a significant sentence of 160 months in prison to Antwon Fulton, a convicted felon found in possession of a rifle and methamphetamine. Fulton, 33, from St. John, Missouri, was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle that caught the attention of St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers due to its missing front license plate and expired temporary license tag on the rear.

During the stop on May 6, 2021, a Chinese SKS semi-automatic rifle and a bag containing 27.05 grams of methamphetamine were discovered in the vehicle. The rifle belonged to Fulton, who is prohibited from owning firearms as a convicted felon. Fulton pleaded guilty in December to charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The case was investigated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Goeke handled the prosecution. This sentencing is a part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program focused on reducing violent crime and gun violence by fostering trust within communities, supporting violence prevention initiatives, prioritizing enforcement efforts, and evaluating outcomes.

This outcome serves as a reminder of the serious consequences individuals face when found in possession of illegal firearms and controlled substances.
