A former youth sports coach in St. Louis, Trevor White, has pleaded guilty to attempting to entice a minor for sex. White, 41, admitted to initiating a text message conversation with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover St. Louis County police detective.

White, who was friends with the girl's parents, requested a photo of the girl and engaged in sexually explicit conversations, seeking a "positive response" from the victim. He even went as far as sending a shirtless photo of himself to the undercover officer.

The suspicious conversation was reported by the victim to her parents, who then involved the St. Louis County police detectives. Using the teen's phone, the detective continued the conversation with White, who became increasingly explicit and eventually arranged to meet for sexual activities.

Upon being interviewed by detectives at his home, White admitted to his actions, including asking for explicit photos and planning to engage in sexual activities with the minor at a park. White is set to be sentenced on July 16, facing a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment for attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.

The case was investigated by the St. Louis County Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Hayes prosecuting. This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
