U.S. District Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk sentenced Sheldon S. Dokes to eight years in prison for possessing over 1,700 images containing child sexual abuse material. Dokes, now 31, uploaded the files from his mother's home in Florissant, Missouri, using the screen name "Sin Frost." He admitted to first viewing child sexual abuse material in a group chat on the Kik app.

According to the report, Dokes had multiple images and videos of child pornography on his phone, Instagram account, and Facebook Messenger. He also distributed some of these materials via Kik Messenger. Dokes pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in December.

Judge Pitlyk ordered Dokes' sentence to run consecutively to a four-year term he is currently serving for gun-related convictions in St. Louis County Circuit Court. The investigation into Dokes was conducted by the FBI and the St. Louis County Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson handling the prosecution.

The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood, launched by the Department of Justice in 2006, coordinates efforts across federal, state, and local agencies to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children online and to rescue victims.
