ST. LOUIS – U.S. District Judge Catherine D. Perry sentenced 26-year-old Taylor Aellen Foster of Webster Groves, Missouri, to 10 years in prison for gun and drug crimes. Foster had pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to reports, Foster was found unconscious in a car at St. Louis Lambert International Airport by St. Louis County police on August 7, 2022. The officers discovered a handgun and a stolen catalytic converter in the vehicle, and as a convicted felon, Foster was prohibited from possessing firearms.
Subsequently, on March 12, 2023, officers observed Foster getting into a carjacked vehicle at a convenience store in Overland. When approached, Foster attempted to flee at high speeds, eventually causing a collision with other vehicles. He was later found in possession of counterfeit money, marijuana, and a substantial amount of methamphetamine.
The case was investigated by the St. Louis County Police Department and the Maplewood Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Becker handling the prosecution.
Foster's sentencing is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities. The program focuses on collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities to enhance safety and combat criminal activities.
This case serves as a reminder of the consequences individuals face for engaging in illegal activities involving firearms and drugs.
