The University of Missouri is gearing up for the return of Show Me Research Week, shining a spotlight on the explorations, discoveries, and creations of its students and postdoctoral fellows from April 8 to April 12.

The weeklong celebration features a variety of activities, including poster presentations, student art showcases, fashion exhibits, professional development opportunities, and more, culminating in an awards ceremony and closing reception on April 12.

One of the highlights of the event is the opportunity to explore student research firsthand. According to the University, "More than 550 undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will present their work in several disciplines through posters and oral presentations."

In addition to research, creative talent takes center stage at Show Me Research Week. Undergraduate students will showcase their artistic abilities in various mediums such as fiber arts, painting, sculpture, and photography. The event also includes exhibitions like "Material Study: School of Visual Studies Exhibition Room."

The Mizzou chapter of Runway of Dreams will be present to exhibit adaptive apparel designs by Textile and Apparel Management students, promoting fashion and beauty inclusion for people with disabilities.

Show Me Research Week also offers professional development opportunities, with sessions such as “Unlocking LinkedIn With AI: The Future of Professional Networking” and “10 Strategies for Virtual Collaboration” aimed at maximizing career potential.

Attendees can look forward to a captivating lecture by forest ecologist Suzanne Simard, author of the New York Times bestseller “Finding the Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest.” Simard will be speaking at the William A. Albrecht Lecture, followed by a book signing.

Humanities Symposium contributors will share their research and creative projects related to this year’s theme of Artificial Intelligence, with a special lecture by Catherine Knight Steele, an assistant professor of communication at the University of Maryland.

For history enthusiasts, the Santa Fe Trail Living History Exhibit and a speech by historian and author Elliott West on "The Santa Fe Trail: Three Centuries of Western History" provide engaging insights into the past.

With a diverse range of activities and presentations lined up, Show Me Research Week promises to be an enriching and enlightening experience for all attendees.
