Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, along with a coalition of seven other attorneys general, has taken legal action against John Caldwell Spiller II for violating permanent robocall and telemarketing bans. According to Attorney General Bailey, "State law protects consumers from being taken advantage of by robocallers. My office will continue to work around the clock to halt this unlawful communication."

Despite being previously banned from making robocalls or engaging in telemarketing, Spiller continued his illegal activities by making deceptive and abusive robocalls. He even went as far as setting up new businesses to facilitate these calls, using aliases and falsified business records to evade authorities.

The attorneys general are seeking for Spiller to dissolve his existing telephone service companies and be prohibited from transmitting telephone calls, providing VoIP services, engaging in text messaging services, and originating or facilitating electronic messages. Additionally, they are requesting Spiller to pay $122,339,320 for violating the permanent injunction.

Joining Attorney General Bailey in this legal action are the attorneys general of Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, and Texas. If individuals are receiving unwanted calls, they are encouraged to fill out a form to be placed on the No-Call List or report violations at 1-(800) 392-8222.
