The City of Saint Louis has officially appointed Ed Ware as the new Building Commissioner, marking a significant moment for the department. Public Safety Director Charles E. Coyle, Sr., made the announcement to the building division staff, expressing his confidence in Mr. Ware's leadership abilities. Director Coyle stated, "This is a pivotal moment for the building division. With Mr. Ware's leadership and vision, the building division will continue on the right path forward."
In response to his appointment, Ed Ware expressed his humility and enthusiasm, emphasizing his dedication to integrity, efficiency, and community trust. Mr. Ware shared, "I was surprised and humbled by the announcement and at the same time also excited about the challenges that lie ahead." He outlined his goals for the division, focusing on honesty, transparency, and trust in interactions with citizens, colleagues, and neighborhood communities. Mr. Ware highlighted the importance of integrity within the department, stating, "One of my main goals for the Building Division is to push and nurture integrity inside the department...Through effective enforcement of the various Building Codes and also synchronizing our collaborations with other city departments along with building and achieving community trust, the results will be a healthier, safer city for those who live here and also for those that visit our city."
During the transition period before Mr. Ware's appointment, Deputy Building Commissioner Dylan Mosier played a crucial role as the division's primary point of contact. Director Coyle expressed his gratitude to Mr. Mosier for his dedication and leadership during this time, saying, "I want to thank Mr. Mosier for his ability to step up and assist with the needs of the building division during this transition period."
