Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey made a significant announcement today, revealing that the United States Supreme Court has taken up his challenge against the Biden administration's censorship efforts. The case revolves around the alleged violation of First Amendment rights by various government agencies, including the White House, Surgeon General, FBI, DHS, and CDC.

In a statement following the Supreme Court hearing, Attorney General Bailey expressed his determination, saying, "Today, the United States Supreme Court heard the most important First Amendment case in this nation’s history. I’m proud that Missouri is leading it. My office brought this lawsuit to halt the disgusting silencing of millions of Americans by the Biden Administration. We feel confident after today’s arguments, and look forward to reminding the nation that the First Amendment still means something in this country."

The lawsuit, known as Missouri v. Biden, was initiated by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana on May 5, 2022. After a motion for discovery was granted on July 12, 2022, Missouri and Louisiana were able to collect evidence and depose witnesses from the Biden Administration, including high-ranking officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci and FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan.

General Bailey and his counterpart filed a motion for a preliminary injunction on March 6, 2023, presenting over 1,400 facts to support their claim that government officials colluded with social media companies to suppress free speech rights. Subsequently, on July 4, 2023, the federal district court granted the motion to block further violations of Americans' First Amendment rights. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld this injunction on two occasions.

The ongoing legal battle sheds light on the critical issue of free speech and government censorship, with Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey at the forefront of the challenge against what is perceived as a threat to fundamental constitutional rights.
