Two men, Kendal “KD” White and Cam’Ron Henderson, both 19 years old, have been indicted by a grand jury for the kidnapping of a toddler in St. Louis County, Missouri, on August 10, 2023. According to reports, the incident took place in north St. Louis County when White and Henderson went to the child's mother's home in search of the child's father, whom they believed had stolen firearms from White.

During the attempted kidnapping, White reportedly pistol-whipped the mother when she resisted, and they ultimately left the child with strangers in St. Louis after seeing an Amber Alert about the incident. The two accused individuals are currently in custody, with a motion seeking to have them held in jail until trial.

As stated in the motion, "The target of their search was the child’s father, but he was not there. Rather than leave, White tried to take the child, and pistol-whipped the mother when she resisted."

The charges against White and Henderson are serious, as they each face one felony count of kidnapping, which carries a potential penalty of at least 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both prison and a fine. However, it is essential to note that charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The investigation into this disturbing incident was conducted by the St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski leading the prosecution of the case.
