Two men, Derrick Darnell Clark and Jeremiah Martez Sutton, have been indicted on federal drug charges following a fatal shooting in St. Louis in January. According to reports, the shooting took place during a drug conspiracy.

Clark and Sutton were charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute controlled substances and one count of aiding and abetting the discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The incident occurred on January 28, 2024, during a robbery in an apartment in St. Louis.

"Charging documents accuse the men of fatally shooting one person and seriously wounding another during a robbery in an apartment in the 900 block of Goodfellow Boulevard in St. Louis," stated the authorities.

Clark was taken into custody on February 22, while Sutton is currently being sought by law enforcement. The charges against them carry severe penalties, with the drug conspiracy charge potentially resulting in up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine, while the aiding and abetting charge could lead to at least 10 years and up to life in prison, along with a $250,000 fine.

The investigation was conducted by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI. It is important to note that charges in an indictment are allegations and do not indicate guilt until proven in a court of law.

The incident has raised concerns in the community, and authorities are actively working to bring Sutton to justice to face the accusations against him.
