UM System Provides Free Emergency Training

The University of Missouri System Office of Emergency Management is offering free emergency training sessions at MU for students, faculty, staff, and the public. One of the programs being offered is the "You Are the Help Until Help Arrives" course, also known as "Until Help Arrives."

According to the University of Missouri System Office of Emergency Management, the program aims to educate attendees about five simple steps that can be taken immediately following an emergency to provide first-aid care and help save someone's life until first responders arrive. This two-hour interactive course is designed to educate and empower attendees to act confidently in emergency situations. Participants will receive instruction on how to make safe care decisions, stop bleeding, position the injured, and provide general comfort.

Training sessions are scheduled throughout the spring semester at MU on the following dates:

- Feb. 28, 9 - 11 a.m.

- March 5, 9 - 11 a.m.

- April 9, 9 - 11 a.m.

- April 10, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

- May 2, 1 - 3 p.m.
