The City of St. Louis Department of Personnel has announced the launch of Taleo, an innovative applicant tracking system aimed at streamlining the hiring process and significantly reducing paper use. This digital platform is a testament to the city’s commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

Taleo offers a fully digital experience for both job applicants and the hiring team, simplifying applications, tracking, and communications. The shift from paper-based processes is expected to enhance not only environmental impact but also the efficiency and accessibility of city employment opportunities.

“We are thrilled to implement Taleo within our department,” said Sonya Gray, Director of Personnel. “This system marks a significant advancement in our hiring practices, allowing us to better serve the City of St. Louis and its residents. The Talent Acquisition team has done an exceptional job, and their dedication is evident in the success of this launch.”

Taleo’s mobile-friendly design enables candidates and recruiters to interact with the system on-the-go, thereby enhancing accessibility and engagement. This feature is expected to facilitate continuous communication and a smoother candidate experience.

By automating key tasks such as job posting, applicant tracking, and interview scheduling, Taleo aims to reduce time-to-hire. Its powerful analytics tools provide insights that refine recruitment strategies, ensuring a faster yet more effective selection process for top-quality candidates.

The public and prospective job applicants can explore the new system by visiting the updated jobs page on the City of St. Louis website.

In her State of the City Address on May 14, Mayor Tishaura O. Jones expressed her hope to lift the City of St. Louis hiring freeze on May 20.
