A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after arranging multiple drug sales involving methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey handed down the sentence to Jerry Massey, 33, on Tuesday.

Massey pleaded guilty in April to several charges: one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute meth and fentanyl, five counts of distribution of meth and fentanyl, one count of possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, and one count of distribution of meth and heroin.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) began its investigation into Massey in January 2022. Agents made a series of controlled purchases from him across St. Louis, St. Louis County, and Illinois between January and March 2024. The transactions included sales on January 18, January 24, January 31, February 8, February 14 (which involved both fentanyl and cocaine), February 29, March 7, and March 14. On March 27, investigators searched Massey’s home with court approval and found a large amount of cash along with pills containing fentanyl.

Several co-defendants also entered guilty pleas related to the case. Darrion Dardon admitted guilt for conspiracy charges as well as distribution offenses; Darius Smith pleaded guilty to conspiracy; Ronald Finney and Michael Davis each pleaded guilty to three drug-related charges plus being felons in possession of firearms.

In their plea agreements:
– Michael Davis acknowledged selling methamphetamine and fentanyl on January 18.
– Darius Smith provided Massey with meth sold on January 24.
– Darrion Dardon sold a mixture including methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and xylazine on February 29.
– Ronald Finney sold methamphetamine while Davis sold fentanyl during the March 14 transactions.

Searches at co-defendants’ residences uncovered additional drugs: authorities found quantities of fentanyl, cocaine base (also known as crack cocaine), methamphetamine as well as handguns at both Finney’s St. Louis County home and Davis’s residence in St. Louis city.

Finney and Davis are awaiting sentencing by the court; previously sentenced were Dardon (84 months) and Smith (96 months).

The case was investigated by the DEA together with the St. Louis County Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Granger is prosecuting.
