Sporting Kansas City will host the Seattle Sounders FC on May 2 for a Major League Soccer match at Sporting Park, according to a May 1 announcement. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Central Time and marks the club’s return home after three consecutive away matches.

The event coincides with Kids Day at Sporting Park, which will include activities such as a rally towel giveaway, special merchandise including summer scarves and Snoopy-themed shirts, a postgame autograph session for season ticket members, and a youth soccer camp on the field. Hill’s Pet Nutrition is serving as the match title night partner. Additionally, Blue’s dog house will be unveiled on the Sporting Plaza before disc dogs perform during halftime.

Tickets are available through SeatGeek, with options like the Coca-Cola Family & Friends 4-Pack that includes four tickets in the Price Chopper South Stand along with refreshments and food for $100. A separate Kids Day ticket package comes with a Sporting KC x Snoopy bucket hat.

The matchup features two teams in contrasting form. Seattle enters unbeaten in its last six league games and has allowed only four goals in eight regular season matches this year—the best defensive record in Major League Soccer so far—while Sporting Kansas City has lost six straight across all competitions and currently holds MLS’s lowest offensive output with seven goals scored amid a scoreless streak of over five hours of play.

Seattle’s roster includes experienced players such as U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Cristian Roldan, who leads his team with three goals this season and has played more than 400 games for the club. Other key contributors are Jesus Ferreira (six assists this season) and Jordan Morris (who scored one goal and assisted another in last week’s win over FC Dallas). Five Sounders players appear on their availability report due to injuries or questionable status; Sporting also lists several injured players ahead of Saturday’s game.

The match will be broadcast nationally on FOX and FOX Deportes as well as streamed via Apple TV in both English and Spanish commentary options. Local radio coverage will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.
