Sporting Kansas City announced on April 27 that the club will return home to host Seattle Sounders FC at Sporting Park this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT. The event, designated as Kids Day, will feature a rally towel giveaway while supplies last and a postgame autograph session for Season Ticket Members.
The upcoming week includes several activities for fans and community members. Tickets for the match are available on SeatGeek, including special packages such as the Coca-Cola Family & Friends 4-Pack and a Kids Day ticket with a Sporting KC x Snoopy bucket hat. The game will be broadcast in English and Spanish on Apple TV, FOX, and FOX Deportes, with local radio coverage provided by Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.
Following Saturday’s match, Sporting KC Youth Soccer will host a Gameday Experience camp from 4:30-5:30 p.m., open to boys and girls aged seven to fourteen of all skill levels. Participants can tour the locker room and receive an official camp t-shirt by registering through SportingKCYouth.com.
Other events this week include early bird registration opening for fall sessions of the Sporting Rec League at various locations in Olathe, Kansas City, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo., aimed at introducing young players from Pre-K to fifth grade to soccer with an emphasis on sportsmanship. Additionally, Sporting City is holding ID Sessions across its East, North, and West regions for potential roster placements in youth teams for the next season; registration is free online.
Single-game tickets for Sporting KC’s final ten home games of the regular season will go on sale Tuesday via SeatGeek. The Academy team concludes play at MLS NEXT Flex tournament this week before resuming league matches against St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday morning.
The club is also hosting an MLS NEXT Cup Qualifier regional event from Thursday through Sunday featuring over one hundred fifty teams competing in age groups U13 through U19. Central Bank has partnered with Sporting Style to launch pop-up shops offering exclusive merchandise starting Friday in Blue Springs.
New four-week sessions of early childhood soccer programs begin Saturday morning at two area locations. On Sunday evening after the main team’s match day activities conclude, Sporting Kansas City II hosts Tacoma Defiance in an MLS NEXT Pro matchup at Swope Soccer Village.
