Recycling Center announces summer hours, discontinuation of paper shredding

Northwest Missouri State University announced on Apr. 21 that its Recycling Center will operate with limited hours during the summer months, starting Monday, April 27.

The Recycling Center, located at the 1100 block of Icon Road, will be open to the community from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The facility will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays during this period.

In addition to the change in operating hours, the university confirmed that its weekly document shredding service at the Recycling Center will end after Thursday, April 23. Until then, shredding is available on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon for a fee of 25 cents per pound. The drive-through facility continues to accept materials such as cardboard, paper, glass bottles and jars, aluminum drink cans, metal food cans and No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs.
