The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a new advertising campaign in Missouri’s 8th District to thank Representative Jason Smith for his role in making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent. The ads, which appear on radio, billboards, and digital platforms, are part of NFIB’s ongoing advocacy supporting this tax provision.

The campaign highlights Representative Smith’s vote to secure the deduction and prevent what NFIB describes as a significant tax increase for small business owners in the region.

“Making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent is a big win for Main Street,” said NFIB Missouri State Director Brad Jones. “By voting to protect this tax relief, Representative Jason Smith has given small business owners in Missouri the certainty they need to grow their operations, continue creating jobs, and give back to their communities. NFIB appreciates his leadership in standing up for small businesses in our state.”

The deduction was originally introduced as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It enables eligible small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income from their taxes. According to NFIB, this measure helps smaller firms compete with larger corporations by reducing their overall tax burden.
