The Monett City Council, administration, and city staff thanked Waymark Church, the owners of Ritchey Mill, and several sponsors for hosting a staff appreciation picnic at Ritchey Mill in Granby on May 2.

The event was organized to show gratitude to city employees for their service. According to the organizers, all expenses for the picnic were covered by sponsors so there was no cost to the city.

Ritchey Mill provided various activities during the gathering. Waymark Church prepared hamburgers and hot dogs for attendees. Staff members had opportunities to take flights with a local pilot, while antique vehicles were displayed for viewing and test driving by staff and their families.

Additionally, Monett police offered rides in its MRAP vehicle. Both fire and police department participants brought cornhole boards for guests to enjoy.

The event aimed to foster community spirit among city employees while recognizing their contributions.
