Mizzou Baseball will host a special “CoMo Day” at Taylor Stadium on April 21, offering free admission to all members of the Columbia community for their game against SIUE, according to an April 20 announcement. The first 200 fans attending the event will also receive a giveaway t-shirt.
The event aims to strengthen ties between the university and local residents by celebrating one of Columbia’s most recognizable landmarks, The Columns, through a new “CoMo” inspired alternate jersey that will be debuted during the game.
Head coach Kerrick Jackson said, “What makes Mizzou a special place is that the university is at the center of the community. It was important as a program to recognize where the majority of our support comes from. We are truly excited for CoMo day at Taylor Stadium.”
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as Carl Edwards, a Columbia native and NASCAR Hall of Famer, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. John Warner Middle School students are scheduled to perform the national anthem. Several local community groups will also participate throughout the game by hosting tables and engaging with fans.
The event is intended to provide an opportunity for fans of all ages to experience Mizzou Baseball in what organizers describe as a welcoming and family-friendly environment. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network. Fans can also listen via audio stream on The Varsity Network app with play-by-play coverage from Tex Little alongside Matt Michaels.
