Missouri State women’s basketball head coach Beth Cunningham announced on Apr. 17 the addition of transfer Hannah Linthacum to the Lady Bears roster. Linthacum, a 6-foot-4 forward, joins Missouri State with two years of eligibility remaining after spending three seasons at the University of Missouri.

The announcement highlights that Linthacum redshirted last season for the Tigers but appeared in 62 career games at Mizzou, where she averaged 2.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. She also recorded a total of 21 assists, 19 steals, and 15 blocks while shooting nearly fifty percent from the field and over sixty percent from the free-throw line.

Linthacum had a standout high school career at Jefferson City High School, earning all-state honors twice in both basketball and volleyball. She was named Missouri Basketball Class 5 Player of the Year as a senior and reached milestones of over one thousand points and rebounds during her time with the Jays. Additionally, she contributed to two district championships each in basketball and volleyball.

Her family has ties to Missouri State athletics; her sister Sarah played for the Lady Bears during the previous season.

“Hannah is an awesome addition to our team and our front court in particular. I believe the front court we have – our returners and new additions – will be a strength next season. It will be great to have versatility at all our positions and be able to consistently use the double-big lineup with the size, depth and athleticism that we face throughout our league. Hannah comes from an incredible family, and we are excited to have another Linthacum wear the Lady Bear uniform,” Cunningham said.

The move adds depth to Missouri State’s roster as they prepare for upcoming competition.
