The Missouri men’s golf team finished the second round of the Southeastern Conference Championship on Apr. 23, with freshman Esteban Cruz Bonilla leading the Tigers.
Cruz Bonilla achieved consecutive sub-70 rounds for the first time in his collegiate career, shooting a two-under-par 68 after recording a 69 in Wednesday’s opening round. His scorecard included birdies on holes four, eleven, and seventeen, with only one bogey during the round.
After two rounds, Cruz Bonilla moved up three spots to stand at twenty-eighth overall at three-under-par through thirty-six holes. Virgilio Paz is next for Missouri at one-under after rounds of sixty-four and seventy-five. Veikka Viskari is at three-over (sixty-nine and seventy-four), while Trent Mierl sits at six-over (seventy-three in both rounds).
The Tigers are currently fifteenth as a team with a combined score of ten-over-par (275-290) after two days of play.
Missouri will begin its final round on Friday morning, teeing off at 8:15 a.m. Central Time.
