The Missouri General Assembly has given its approval to the state’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The $52 billion budget includes funding for Greater St. Louis, Inc. priorities such as sustained investments in the Missouri Technology Corporation and public transportation, St. Louis Lambert International Airport, and the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

Greater St. Louis, Inc. collaborated with appropriators in both the House and Senate to secure a sustained investment in funding for several areas. These include Public Transit ($11.7 million), Missouri Technology Corporation ($8.5 million), Global Connectivity ($5 million), Transformation of St. Louis Lambert International Airport ($7 million), and UMSL College of Engineering ($25 million).

Adam Kazda, Vice President of Government Relations for GSL, issued a statement following the General Assembly’s passage of a state budget: “Greater St. Louis, Inc. thanks Speaker of the House Dean Plocher, House Budget Chair Cody Smith, Senate Appropriations Chair Lincoln Hough, Senator Brian Williams, and members of the General Assembly who recognize the value of state investment in innovation, public transit, infrastructure, and new educational and workforce opportunities.”

Kazda further added that these investments make Missouri more competitive on both national and global stages by showing current and prospective businesses that the state is an active partner in their success.
