The Missouri Chamber PAC played a significant role in the 2024 General Election by supporting over 50 candidates who advocate for job creation and business interests. Among those elected was Governor-elect Mike Kehoe, who secured victory with 59% of the vote.

Kara Corches, president and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed satisfaction with Kehoe’s election. “Mike Kehoe is a true champion for business in our state,” Corches stated. She highlighted his advocacy for addressing child care issues and improving transportation infrastructure in Missouri. The Chamber looks forward to collaborating with Kehoe to foster a business-friendly environment.

The PAC also backed numerous candidates for the Missouri General Assembly, resulting in successful campaigns across various districts. Notable Senate winners include Mike Henderson (District 3), Barbara Washington (District 9), Kurtis Gregory (District 21), and Jason Bean (District 25). In the House, victors included Greg Sharpe (District 4) and Ashley Aune (District 14), among others.

Corches noted that voters showed strong support for pro-business candidates. “We are excited to work with these legislators to move Missouri forward by addressing our state’s child care crisis, building a safer, stronger Missouri, and protecting our free enterprise system,” she said.

Missouri voters also passed Proposition A, which will raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2026 and require paid sick leave from employers. Despite this decision, Corches expressed disappointment: “We are deeply disappointed by the passage of Proposition A.” She argued that it would increase consumer prices and burden small businesses financially.

In response to Proposition A’s approval, several organizations plan to explore legal options. These groups include Associated Industries of Missouri, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Missouri Grocers Association, among others. They aim to ensure that unemployment rates and cost-of-living impacts are addressed following this new measure.
