The Lebanon Police Department recognized Animal Control Appreciation Week during the second full week of April, highlighting the daily efforts of its animal control team.

Animal Control Officers play a key role in protecting both residents and animals. They respond to calls about animals in crisis, reunite lost pets with their families, and investigate cases of neglect or cruelty. The department said these officers also help care for shelter animals and support adoption programs.

The current animal control team includes Officers Sunny Shaufer, Leslie Manning, and Ronald Grapes, led by Animal Control Manager JT Taylor. Each member brings experience and training to their work with local animals.

Police Chief Jerry Harrison said, “Animal control is often a thankless job, especially when everything is running smoothly. But our team makes a real difference every day. Their work helps protect our residents and the pets they love.”

The department encouraged community members to recognize the contributions of animal control professionals during this appreciation week.
