On Monday, a convicted felon confessed to the illegal possession of firearms on two separate occasions, one of which involved a violent altercation in a bar located in Overland, Missouri. Kenneth Jordan, 63, from University City, Missouri, pleaded guilty to two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Jordan admitted that on February 22, 2023, he was involved in an argument over a pool game at an Overland bar. During the dispute, Jordan assaulted another patron by striking him on the head with a revolver and subsequently threatened him with the same weapon.
Authorities identified Jordan as the assailant and executed a search warrant at his residence on March 7, 2023. The search resulted in the discovery of the revolver used in the assault along with three shotguns. As a convicted felon, Jordan is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.
Jordan’s sentencing is scheduled for August 14. The investigation into this case was conducted by the Overland Police Department and St. Louis County Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nino Przulj is responsible for prosecuting the case.
This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at bringing together all levels of law enforcement and communities to reduce violent crime and gun violence while making neighborhoods safer for everyone. On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy to strengthen PSN based on core principles: fostering trust and legitimacy within communities; supporting community-based organizations that work towards preventing violence; setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities; and measuring results.
