The University of Central Missouri Mules Golf team announced on May 5 that it is set to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional Championship, which will take place at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan, from May 7 through May 9. This marks the program’s 32nd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II postseason.

The event is significant as it offers teams and individual golfers a chance to advance to the national finals. The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each region will qualify for the finals, scheduled for May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

The Mules enter the super regional following a strong spring season highlighted by eight top-10 finishes and a first-place showing at the Tulsa Cup. They recently finished as runners-up at the MIAA Men’s Golf Championship. The expected roster includes seniors Jack Hope, Andrew Whittaker, Brooks Baldwin; sophomore Lawson Barks; junior CJ Phillips; and freshman Kale Flinton.

Flinton recently tied for second place after shooting five-under par in the final round of the MIAA Championship and has two top-10 finishes this season with an average score of 73.69 over 26 rounds. Phillips has averaged 72.41 over 29 rounds, secured seven top-five finishes—including wins at both the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Classic and Tulsa Cup—and received All-MIAA honors after finishing twelfth at the conference championships. Barks has maintained a scoring average of 75.22 over his rounds this year while Hope and Whittaker have also contributed solid performances.

Competition includes teams from both Central and Midwest regions such as Central Oklahoma, Harding, Washburn, Grand Valley State, Findlay, Missouri S&T among others along with several individual qualifiers representing their schools.

The first round of play begins Thursday, May 7.
