The Centene Foundation announced on April 23 that it invested $34.9 million across 209 nonprofit organizations in 29 states and the District of Columbia during 2025, according to its newly released year-end report.
The foundation’s investments focused on improving community health through local partnerships and national strategies. The funding supported initiatives addressing maternal and child health, integrated health and housing solutions, community-based care coordination, and disaster response efforts.
Joyce Larkin, head of Centene Foundation, said: “Real, lasting change starts with listening to communities and investing in the organizations closest to the challenges. In 2025, we deepened our partner-first approach by pairing funding with expertise, strengthening local leadership, and focusing on solutions that deliver measurable, sustainable impact for the people and families our partners serve.”
By philanthropic pillar in 2025, the foundation allocated $15.9 million for healthcare initiatives; $14.3 million for social services; $3.9 million for education; and $800,000 for disaster relief programs.
The release of this report marks the end of a three-year giving strategy that began in 2022. According to the foundation’s statement, early-stage proposals from previous years have developed into established programs delivering tangible results at the community level.
Looking ahead to 2026, Centene Foundation plans to focus on building knowledge-sharing networks among nonprofit partners while strengthening collaboration efforts nationwide. The organization stated it aims to deepen its impact as it continues its mission of transforming community health outcomes amid increasing needs.
