Catholic Vote President: Missouri Attorney General investigation into underage transgender treatments ‘a profile in courage’

Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s investigation into organizations offering transgender treatment to minors is “a profile in courage for aggressively investigating those who would lie to parents and harm their children.”

“Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, a Republican, has so far been a profile in courage for aggressively investigating those who would lie to parents and harm their children with dangerous hormones and life altering surgeries,” Burch told Show Me State Times. “The divide between those with courage and those without in public office has never been greater.”

Planned Parenthood in St. Louis, Missouri has filed to appeal the ruling that requires the clinic to provide patient files in order to determine if they had prescribed puberty blockers and performed transgender procedures on minors.

“It’s disappointing that Planned Parenthood doesn’t want to comply with our investigation that merely seeks to ensure children weren’t experimented on without parental consent,” Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey told Fox News Digital. “As a father of four, this fight to protect children is personal for me. We will not let up. I look forward to prevailing in court on this matter once again.”

According to Fox News, Bailey has instigated a series of investigations into transgender health clinics, particularly into their services offered to under-age children. The Washington University Transgender Center (TGC) at St. Louis Children’s Hospital is one of the organizations being investigated by the attorney general after a whistleblower accused the hospital of lying to parents of underage patients.

Missouri has ratified legislation which bans puberty blockers, hormones, and gender-reassignment surgeries for minors.

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
