The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 22 that deputies made several warrant arrests in the past week. Six individuals were apprehended on a range of charges, including felonies and misdemeanors.
The Sheriff’s Office reported that those arrested face charges such as felony murder in the second degree, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, abandonment of a corpse, and receiving stolen property. Other charges include probation violations related to controlled substances and driving while intoxicated, fraudulent use of a debit device, burglary in the second degree, stealing, and failure to appear for traffic offenses.
Officials said these arrests are part of ongoing efforts by the Fugitive Task Force to address outstanding warrants in Cape Girardeau County. The Sheriff’s Office also issued a message to individuals with active warrants: “If you have warrants for your Arrest in Cape Girardeau County, there is a good chance you will see deputies from our Fugitive Task Force soon.”
The department encouraged those with outstanding warrants to turn themselves in voluntarily at the Sheriff’s Office. “This is a significant step towards self-redemption and a fresh start,” officials said.
These recent actions reflect continued law enforcement activity aimed at ensuring public safety by addressing open cases and encouraging community members with outstanding legal matters to resolve them directly.
